Vegetable Carving Arts
For this project, I was required to carve a whale a da rose out of a cucumber and a radish. The whale carving was a little odd to me. I did not fully understand how to make a piece of cucumber look anything like a whale. i started off with slicing one side of the cucumber to make a flat surface as the bottom of the whale. Then I sliced the sides of the cucumbers to make fins. Another thing that I also didn't understand was: Don't whales need a tail? However, even so, i decided not to make a tail for the whale. Next up: radish rose. I liked the outcome of the radish which it looked way better than it seemed when I started off the radish. I found it really hard of work with a radish because of how small it is. However, I somehow managed to cut out fragments of the radish without it falling apart.
